FAQ'S
WHAT DO I NEED FOR MY FIRST LESSON
Just come along a little earlier to fill out some forms (parent fills our form if child is under 18) wear loose clothing like jogging bottoms or shorts and a t shirt. We do train bare foot, but if you have problems then you can wear light weight trainers and bring a drink. Jewellery must be removed or taped up.
DOES THE PARENT HAVE TO STAY?
We always encourage parents to stay and watch or even better, get involved and train too. However, only the Tiny Taekwon-Do (4-6 year old) parents HAVE to stay. Juniors and above can be dropped off at the start of class, and collected at the end.
DO I NEED ALL MY EQUIPMENT STRAIGHT AWAY?
DO I HAVE TO FIGHT/SPAR?
In our Taekwon-Do class, you do have to spar, but you do not have to fight competitively. Also, when sparring in training, our students are instructed to be light and look after each other. You may get a little bump or bruise as accidents can’t always be prevented. If you do want a little more contact, this can be arranged. You can be paired with someone of similar experienced and who also wants to spar at a higher level. Safety is always paramount.
DO I HAVE TO BOOK TO COME TO CLASS?
You do not have to book, you can just turn up. However, we’d prefer it if you enquire first, so we can give you correct details and just in case class is cancelled for some reason or if there is an emergency.
